Two Kirkian posts from The Imaginative Conservative
- The first is an essay by Kirk himself about the continuing relevance of Edmund Burke: The Living Edmund Burke. Kirk specifically notes the influence of Burke on the conservative party in the early American Republic, the Federalists, in the persons of George Washington, Alexander Hamilton and John Marshall.
- The second is an interview with Kirk on the 40th anniversary of his groundbreaking work The Conservative Mind: The Conservative Mind After Forty Years: An Interview with Russell Kirk. An insightful and interesting read, with Kirk's thoughts about both the past and the challenges that fact conservatism in the modern world. His recommendations for reading in the conservative tradition are, of course, spot on (particularly his comments regarding John Adams and John C. Calhoun, two very different kinds of conservative minds).
